- Provide a safe work environment and assure that team members follow safe work practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and assist with implementation of changes.
- Supervisor is a role model for the department by practicing employee engagement while having a respectful and positive attitude.
- Directs efforts of staff, ensuring all work is coordinated, downtime is minimized, and product meets established quality standards.
- Works to develop procedures and techniques to reduce process variation and manufacturing delays, while increasing productivity.
- Justifies headcount requests, participates in hiring process and creates expectations of an employee.
- Manages performance and works with HR in situations requiring disciplinary process.
- Communicate with other departments and suppliers to ensure proper materials and equipment are provided for the team members.
- Review and approve weekly payroll within policy and meets deadlines
- Maintains inventory and supplies to meet delivery schedules.
- Provide training and coaching to help team members advance their skills
- Coordinates production schedule with support departments and resolves production problems related to methods, tools, materials, and manpower.
- Communicate expectations and challenges to team members.
- 1- 2 Years experience in a leadership role required.
- Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of inventory management including Kanban ordering, cycle counts, and inventory control procedures.
- Understanding of the logistical processes needed to move material to and from external production facilities.
- Ability develop and improve processes, procedures, and efficiency to improve the material handling department and meet company goals.
- Ability to read blueprint drawings and pick lists.
- Computer skills including ability to use and create word documents, spread sheets as well as utilize Payroll, and Enterprise Resource Planning software.
