This person will report to the Welding Manager.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the assigned weld lines.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address any personnel issues.
- Manage daily activities of the department to meet production demands in both quantity and quality.
- Communicate effectively with leads and other team members to direct personnel.
- Communicate with other departments to assure proper materials and equipment are provided for the team members.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and assist with implementation of changes.
- Be a role model for the department by practicing employee engagement while having a respectful and positive attitude.
- Ensure all work performed meets company standards and complies with safety requirements.
- Five years of related experience with at least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of welding processes and equipment.
- Ability to plan and implement changes.
- Math skills including good understanding of fractions and angles
- Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists.
- Experience and ability to utilize an ERP system.
- Computer skills including ability to use and create word documents and spread sheets.
- Preferred training and certification in forklift and overhead crane operation.
