Welding Apprenticeship
- Use Pulse welder to assemble fabricated metal assemblies in an efficient manner to maximize production.
- Produce strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
- Follow required procedures and use appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in assembly process.
- Weld vertical, flat and overhead with good penetration.
- Maintain/produce a level of output that will minimize production delays.
- Operate the equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operations to the Safety Department and Maintenance Department.
- Good communication.
- Math skills including fractions and angles.
- Read tape measure and angle finder.
- Read blue-prints and cut lists.
- Operate plasma cutter and acetylene torches.
- Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
- Assist other individuals in areas when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have completed at least 1 welding class in school and pass a weld test
- Must be at least 16 years old and completed sophomore year of high school.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- If a student, prefer they have availability to work during the school year.
- Follow all safety protocols for apprenticeships.
